As our team continues to expand, we are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Estimator to join us full-time.
Position Overview
The Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and timely estimates for roofing projects, including re-roofing, repairs, maintenance, and new construction. This role involves reviewing drawings and specifications, conducting site visits, calculating material and labour requirements, and working closely with project managers, customers, and suppliers.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for residential, commercial, and industrial roofing projects
- Review plans, tenders, and specifications to determine scope and requirements
- Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and measurements
- Prepare material take-offs and labour calculations
- Request and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
- Prepare bid packages, proposals, and supporting documentation
- Maintain organized project files and estimate records
- Collaborate with the project management team to ensure accurate job costing
- Assist with change orders, budget updates, and project forecasting
- Communicate professionally with clients, vendors, and internal teams
- Estimating experience in roofing or construction (commercial roofing experience an asset)
- Strong understanding of roofing systems (flat, shingle, metal, commercial membranes, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs, tender documents, and site reports
- Proficiency with estimation software, MS Excel, and digital tools
- Excellent math, analytical, and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s license; ability to visit job sites as required
